CodeElastic_Impedance
NameElastic Impedance
Parents Property > Acoustic_Impedance
DescriptionProperty which controls the propagation of a seismic wave at a particular (non-zero) angle of incidence. It is a function of the material density, the compressional wave velocity within the material, the ratio between the shear and the compressional wave velocities, and the angle of incidence. This property, analogous to Acoustic_Impedance but for non-zero incidence angles, is described in 1998 SEG Paper "Calibration and Inversion of Non-Zero Offset Seismic Data", by Patrick Connolly (BP).
